Event Details:

Join in to take a tour and learn about some of its ongoing projects, including virtual fencing, continuous versus rotational grazing projects and its effects, living labs and much more. Lunch included and everyone welcome!

The Roy Berg Kinsella Research Ranch is a state-of-the-art livestock handling facility and home to ~850 head of cattle that graze rotationally.

Bussing: A bus is departing from Millet at 7:30 a.m. and returning around 5 p.m. for any participants who wish to travel with the group

• 9:30 to 9:45 a.m. – Welcome note
• 9:45 to 11 a.m. – Morning walk to look at infrastructure for rotational grazing (CAT-G project)
• 11 to 11:30 a.m. – Effects of grazing management on soil nitrogen cycling genes, nitrogen fixation and below-ground nitrogen transfer
• 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Investigating the effects of grazing management and stocking rate on CH4 emissions
• 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. – Lunch at Kinsella Community Centre
• 1:30 to 2 p.m. – Conservation of riparian areas using virtual fencing technology
• 2 to 3 p.m. – Living labs
